Melinda brings expertise in educational and social policy, governance, strategic planning, and research methods. She has worked in the university and secondary school sectors, as a consultant to government and the not for profit sector, as a lecturer, and in small business. She has a career long interest in social justice and diversity, with a particular focus on gender, cultural diversity, and migration. She has published on a range of topics including gender and violence, gender and migration, and gender and the media. Melinda also brings expertise on qualitative research methodologies, research ethics, and research in cross cultural contexts.
Melinda has a Doctorate and a Masters Degree in Education and Women’s Studies; a Graduate Diploma in Education; and a Bachelor of Secondary Education. She has published a book on refugee women, representation and education policy and authored other publications. She has conducted evaluations and written reports for government and the not for profit sectors.
