Sam‘s knowledge and contributions are born out of broad experience in the not-for-profit sector, in both urban and regional Australia, and also within Europe. Sam has provided advice and support to organisations through strategic planning, program development, project design and management, along with research and writing on key policy issues.
In this context Sam has partnered with community service providers, local councils, Aboriginal communities, think tanks and private companies on a range of thematic issues. The common thread throughout all his activities is a passion for continuous improvement on issues of social disadvantage and sustainable development, with a desire to see organisations maximise their potential for effectiveness. Sam is also excited by the potential for sustainability principles and innovate thinking to act as drivers of new development processes.
Sam is addicted to many things, but gives priority to eating good food, travelling, blues music and long-distance running.
Sam has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Legal Studies (2003) from La Trobe University and a Masters in International and Community Development (2009) from Deakin University.
