We’re inviting families of early school leavers to take part in an exciting evaluation project. Whether young people in your life are working, studying, training, or figuring things out – we want to hear about their journeys.

Synergistiq, an independent research consultancy, is evaluating the Victorian Early Leavers Connection Initiative (VELCI), on behalf of the Department of Education. VELCI supports young people who have been exempted from school and are pursuing alternative pathways (i.e. work or study). The initiative’s Career Advice Service and targeted support providers (First Nations and disability-specific organisations) provide regular check-ins, career guidance and other support to early school leavers.

If a young person in your life has been involved with any of these VELCI supports, we want to hear your perspectives on support provided to them. Sign up to participate in a brief interview. This will take place in-person, at your local Career Advice Service or targeted support provider, or virtually if you’re unable to attend in-person.
