Effie brings a breadth of experience in policy development, casework and project work in the public service at both the Federal and State levels. As a NAATI certified Greek<> Interpreter and Translator, Effie also created and managed her own business, Equivalence for 16 years, providing interpreting services, with a focus in the courts and health care settings, and translation services across business, technology, law, education, health and public administration documentation.
Effie holds a Bachelor of Planning and Design from the University of Melbourne and an Advanced Diploma of Interpreting and Translation. Her interest for study is broad and has also included studies in neuroscience, governance and Italian.
Effie’s previous experience as a school councillor and her staunch commitment to public education inform her management of the school council training program Synergistiq delivers on behalf of the Department of Education.
In her private time, Effie enjoys designing and making her own clothes.
